Celebrating the Success of National Wagyu Day 2024

National Wagyu Day 2024 was a great success, celebrated across the United States and in various parts of the world. The purpose of National Wagyu Day from the day that I founded it in 2022 was to bring Wagyu lovers together and to spread awareness of its rigorous authentication process. This year food and wagyu lovers, butchers, chefs, and restaurants in a global appreciation of Wagyu beef, were brought together, as evidenced by the results on social media when searching the hashtag #NationalWagyuDay. This year’s celebrations saw a record number of restaurants participating, some of which had special offers.

Thank You to all that Participated

As the founder of National Wagyu Day, I would like to extend my gratitude to everybody that actively participated this year by posting and using the hashtag #NationalWagyuDay. National Wagyu Day has become what it is today thanks to the help of bloggers, wagyu lovers, and the media. This year, I would like to make a special shoutout to Capriotti’s and Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar.

Capriotti’s: A National Campaign for Free Wagyu Subs

One of the standout participants this year was Capriotti’s. Capriotti’s took National Wagyu Day to the next level with their national campaign offering free Wagyu subs and their doctor’s note as a joke on social media to get time off work to try it. This promotion not only allowed many to experience the American Wagyu but also created a buzz across the country, evident by the experiences shared on social media using the hashtag #NationalWagyuDay. I went to the nearest Capriotti’s and they shared it on a Facebook post. Capriotti’s campaign was a perfect example of how food can bring people together.

Fleming’s: Pre-launching Wagyu on Their Menu

Another highlight was Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar. Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar is one of my favorite steakhouses, and I have always said that they are missing Wagyu on their menu. To my surprise, just 1 week before National Wagyu Day, I saw an article on FSR Magazine that Fleming’s will be offering Wagyu permanently on their menu on June 25th with a prelaunch on National Wagyu Day. This made my day. I have influenced a national chain to do something I have always wanted them to do without even suggesting adding Wagyu to their menu.

Global Celebrations and Future Prospects

National Wagyu Day 2024 also saw celebrations beyond the USA from Tokyo to London, butchers, chefs, and restaurants created special Wagyu menus and offered promotions to further indulge in the growing crave for Wagyu beef across the world. Even the History Channel chimed in on X to acknowledge this year’s National Wagyu Day observance.

In conclusion, I am very optimistic. I look forward to future National Wagyu Day celebrations, and I cannot wait to see what everyone does next year. This year I promised to list restaurants that used the hashtag #NationalWagyuDay on the official website celebrations page and I delivered on that promise. The success of this year’s event sets a high standard, and I am confident that with the continued support and creativity of restaurants across the country and around the world, National Wagyu Day will keep growing, bringing even more joy and connecting people all over the world. Thank you once again to all the restaurants, chefs, and food lovers who made National Wagyu Day 2024 a phenomenal success. I can’t wait to see what next year has in store!
